If you don't own a dog, at least one, there is not necessarily anything wrong with you, but there may be something wrong with your life - Roger Caras
Harley (1525)

Vroom-Vroom, meet Harley, a beautiful gentle soul who steels the hearts of all that meet him. Harley came to SBR through an owner relinquish when he was 12 years old. At that time he had a nasty tumor that needed immediate removal however due to the severe neglect and his emaciated state it had to be put on hold until he was healthy enough for anesthesia. His foster parents worked very hard to bring his iron levels to normal and get a few more pounds on him. Three weeks later, bloodwork and weight were to levels that allowed surgery. Miraculously the very nasty tumor came back benign. Although Harley appears to be a hound for all, he has some severe issues resulting from what could have only been severe neglect and abuse. Harley is terrified of loud noises, sudden movements and the kitchen, yes, the kitchen. He will only run through it to go to his dog door and back again. He never lingers in that room. Loud noises send him running, sudden movements to cower. A thunder storm has him coming out of his skin, thank goodness for his thunder shirt. Harley found his foster home to be a quiet and loving environment where his foster mom and dad have a couple hound friends and a Chihuahua that are low key and have accepted Harley as one of their own. As long as Harley has one of his foster parents in sight he does well. When he loses sight of them he becomes quite anxious. All of these issues are what have made Harley a virtual hound. Hounds like Harley will remain in SBR’s care for all of their remaining life in a loving home. Having hounds like Harley require continued support by you the virtual adopter. If Harley’s story has touched your heart, consider a virtual adoption to help provide Harley’s continued needs.
