If you don't own a dog, at least one, there is not necessarily anything wrong with you, but there may be something wrong with your life - Roger Caras
Walter (1746)

Walter is one hunk of a hound! In his 7 short years, he was passed around by 3 families but luckily a guardian angel came into his life and contacted Suncoast to find him a loving home. Walter is an easy going hound. He loves his food and will do a happy dance when you are getting his food ready. He will definitely tell you when it’s time to eat. Walter gets along with other dogs and he is kid and kitty friendly. He talks and howls and loves belly rubs. Sleeps a lot and snores like a man. House trained and doggie door trained. Walter is a very smart hound. He learned his name within a few days, learned the doggie door within a day, and knows he gets his shots after he eats. Walter has Diabetes, hence his hunkiness. Walter is also heart worm positive. Due to his diabetes, he is unable to have treatment so he is getting his normal monthly heartguard and will be tested again. Walter is great about getting his insulin shots, probably due to the treat he receives after his shot. Walter is blind, due to cataracts from the diabetes. He does get around his foster families home pretty good. He also has a skin allergy, and is currently on Apoquel. He loves his beds and KNOWS when another is in his bed and will bark until his foster family makes the other hound get up. He has a routine Eat, Shot, Treat, Potty, Sleep ... break the routine without a treat and oh lord you will know it. Walter is a great hound. He is very laid back and would be a great addition to any family. Please don’t let his medical issues deter you from considering him. Walter deserves the best home!
