Betty’s Story

Being rescued, as a stray in north Florida, on the day before Betty White’s birthday, I will be forever called Betty.  Being half-Basset and half Labrador, I also will forever be known as SBR’s bass-ador.  I arrived at my foster home with mammary gland tumors, an infection and not spayed.  All required a veterinarian specialist.  The surgery and recovery went well.  However, the vet found an aggressive stage 3 mammary cancer.  My foster mom is sad because she says I’m the sweetest, gentlest dog she has ever taken care of.  She has promised to love and care for me for the rest of my days.  So far, I’m doing well – play with my toys, enjoy my treats but a bit unsteady at times.  You can help with my on-going medical expenses by tapping a support button for me..
