Fostering a Basset Hound can be a rewarding and joyful experience. A foster takes in a needy Basset and supplies it with love, food, and shelter for some time until their forever home is found.

The duration for a foster can vary from anywhere to a few weeks to becoming the forever family to the Basset they are fostering.

Some Bassets may have been surrendered for their health issues and when you Foster, Suncoast will cover medical expenses for the Basset in need.

Suncoast will need your help to evaluate and help determine the best home for the Basset you foster since you will learn to know it best.

When you give up the Basset to its new family, it can be very hard. However, when you see the dog happy in their new surroundings, you will know you have not only brought happiness to your Basset, but to the forever family as well.

To become a Foster, it is required to first fill out the Foster Application and have a Suncoast Basset Rescue volunteer visit your home to ensure it is a thriving environment for a foster.
