1. Sign a Foster Care Agreement outlining your responsibilities.

2. Provide food, shelter, and a safe environment for your foster dog.

3. Submit updates, along with photos and videos, to help us better understand your foster’s progress.

4. Take your foster for routine and emergency veterinary care, if needed.

5. Be prepared to house train and crate train your foster if required.

6. Notify Suncoast Basset Rescue immediately of any health concerns and work collaboratively on addressing any medical issues.

7. Notify Suncoast Basset Rescue of any behavioral challenges and be open to working with those behaviors.

8. Be willing to attend obedience training classes and/or work with a dog trainer, if necessary, to help improve their skills and behavior.

9. Meet with potential adopters and provide feedback on whether you think they would be a good fit for your foster.

10. Acknowledge that the foster dog is not your dog, but a Suncoast Basset Rescue dog.

11. Be prepared to relinquish your foster dog to a qualified adopter when a suitable match is found.
